It is the first theatrical animated feature film to be produced by Happy Madison Productions. The film originally premiered on April 14, 2002 at the Laemmle Rialto Theater in Los Angeles, California, Sandler's first animated film, is set in a small town, and follows Davey Stone, a man with an addiction to alcohol who drinks himself to the point of madness. He is imprisoned in the local jail and sentenced to community service, but his alcoholism has always been a trial. As he performs an employee of the town clerk, Davey's license and bumper sticker are swapped to "Obey: Obey Jesus, Obey the Law". After destroying several parts of the town during a blackout, the owner of the town blackmails the town into abolishing the community service sentence by promising to reinstate the license plate that boasts "Obey" if Davey will find the man who stole it. After finding a frightened young woman hiding in a church, Davey helps clean the town and restores his license plate.
